In Lebanon, the Digital School launched a project benefiting 40,000 students in its first phase, ensuring those in displacement camps could continue their education using digital learning tools and education center support.

The UAE has also invested heavily in global education. Since 2018, it has allocated $200 million to the Global Partnership for Education, supporting programs in developing countries until 2025. Between 2012 and 2019, the UAE contributed AED 190.1 million ($51.8 million) to education for Syrian refugees and supported UNRWA in providing education for Palestinian refugees

The UAE’s focus on education as a cornerstone of its foreign aid and development strategy is evident in its establishment of schools and universities worldwide, training thousands of teachers, and providing generous scholarships.

Education in the UAE

Domestically, the UAE has restructured its education ministry, developed a national framework for ranking higher education institutions, and introduced a new funding system for federal institutions based on scholarships. The country commemorates Feb. 28 as Emirati Day for Education, honoring the first teacher graduates from UAE University in 1982.

The UAE values education as a cornerstone of progress, innovation, and nation-building. It fosters sustainable development, empowers individuals, and drives economic growth. By prioritizing education, the UAE aims to equip future generations with the skills and knowledge needed to address global challenges, promote tolerance, and contribute to a prosperous, inclusive society.
