Bollywood classic Mughal-e-Azam is considered one of the best films ever produced post-independence. Apart from being the birthplace of both Dilip Kumar and Prithvi Raj Kapoor, Pakistan shares one more connection with the iconic film.

Nukta’s Omair Alavi meets with Saeed Shiraz, who takes him on a trip down memory lane to explain how Mughal-e-Azam is as much a Pakistani product as it is Indian.

Saeed Shiraz explains that his father, Shiraz Ali Hakim, initiated the K. Asif venture in the 1940s, and later convinced builder Shapoorji Pallonji to invest in the project after Independence.
