What is the One Run International Half-Marathon?
One Run is an annual international half-marathon held simultaneously across multiple countries. Participants of all skill levels come together to promote global unity, health, and cultural exchange. On May 23, more than 245,000 runners across countries including Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, India, the UAE, and others will run on the same day.
Who can participate in the Karachi One Run?
Runners of all ages and fitness levels are welcome to take part. The event offers four race categories: 1 km, 5 km, 10 km, and the flagship 21.1 km half-marathon. Whether you are a first-time runner or an experienced athlete, the event is designed to be accessible to everyone.
Where does the race route run in Karachi?
The race route stretches along Abdul Sattar Edhi Road at Seaview, one of Karachi’s most recognisable coastal stretches. Both the starting and finishing points are located at Emaar Ocean Front in DHA Phase 8.
The scenic waterfront setting makes it one of the more distinctive race routes in the city.
The purpose of the event
The event is intended to encourage Pakistanis to prioritise holistic health and make physical activity more culturally significant. It also serves as a platform to connect Karachi’s growing running community with a global movement.
“Karachi’s running culture is growing rapidly, with more people from all walks of life taking part every year,” said event organiser Shoaib Nizami. “While the city is famous for its food, Karachiites should also take pride in their active lifestyle and participation in international events. This is another opportunity to showcase the healthy, dynamic side of our city to the world,” he added.
