Iran military ‘categorically’ denies launching attacks on UAE

Iran’s military on Tuesday categorically denied launching missile or drone attacks on the United Arab Emirates in recent days, after the UAE accused Tehran of two consecutive days of strikes.

The Khatam al-Anbiya central command said the claims were “completely unfounded.” The denial came amid a fragile ceasefire in the broader Middle East war.

Did Iran attack the UAE with missiles and drones?

Iran says it did not. The Khatam al-Anbiya central command stated that no missile or drone operation was carried out against the UAE, adding that any such action would have been announced “firmly and clearly.”

The UAE, however, said its air defenses actively engaged incoming missiles and drones it identified as coming from Iran.

What did the UAE say about the attacks?

The UAE defense ministry said on Tuesday that its air defense systems were “actively engaging” missile and drone threats for the second consecutive day.

It attributed the attacks directly to Iran in a statement posted on X. On Monday, the UAE had accused Iran of striking an energy installation in the emirate of Fujairah, calling it a “dangerous escalation.”

An Iranian military official responded to the Monday accusations on state TV, saying the Islamic Republic had “no pre-planned program to attack the oil facilities in question.” Iran has targeted the UAE more than any other country during the war, striking US assets alongside energy infrastructure, civilian facilities, and landmarks.

What is Iran’s warning to the UAE?

Beyond denying the attacks, Iran’s military issued a direct warning to Abu Dhabi. The statement said the UAE “must not become a haven for the Americans and the Zionists, their forces and military equipment.”

It added that any attacks launched from Emirati territory would be met with a “firm response.”

The UAE had previously stated it would not allow its airspace, land, or waters to be used for military action against Iran. The exchange reflects deepening tension between Tehran and Gulf states drawn into the conflict, even as ceasefire negotiations remain ongoing.
