Pakistani security forces killed four militants during an operation in Balochistan’s Kalat district, the military said on Sunday, as Islamabad continues its counterterrorism campaign in the restive southwestern province.

The raid was conducted on December 27 following intelligence reports, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the military’s media wing.

The ISPR described the militants as members of Fitna al Hindustan, a term Pakistani authorities use for groups they accuse India of sponsoring. The military said security forces engaged a terrorist hideout in an intense firefight that resulted in four deaths.

Pakistan has long accused India of supporting separatist and militant groups in Balochistan, allegations New Delhi has consistently denied.

Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered, according to the military statement. The ISPR said those killed were involved in terrorist activities in the area, without providing specific details.

Sanitization operations are ongoing, and the military reaffirmed its commitment to the “Azm-e-Istehkam” counterterrorism initiative under the Federal Apex Committee’s National Action Plan.

Balochistan has faced decades of insurgency, with various separatist groups demanding greater autonomy or independence from Islamabad.
