In a landmark moment for street cricket, Karachi Kids completed a fairytale run by defeating Rawalpindi Royals by six runs in a thrilling final at Naya Nazimabad to lift the Pakistan Tape Ball Premier League title, as the country moves closer to forming its first national tape ball team.
Despite a breathtaking inning from Rawalpindi Royals captain Taimur Mirza, who smashed 10 sixes, his effort went in vain as Karachi Kids held their nerve to lift the prestigious title. The final attracted hundreds of spectators, and the post-match celebrations featured a musical night, laser light show and fireworks, with renowned singer Sahir Ali Bagga entertaining the crowd.
The awards ceremony was attended by former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad, PTBL Chairman Zuhair Naseer, politician Farooq Sattar, Hamad ND Khan, former Test cricketers Tauseef Ahmed and Sadiq Mohammad, and Director Sports Naya Nazimabad Muhammad Talha, who distributed prizes among the players.
