From Karachi to the US: Inside the reign of the city’s ‘lady don’

Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city, has long grappled with law-and-order challenges, including organized crime and targeted killings.

Investigators say one of the most shocking cases involves Kehkashan Haider, originally from the city, who allegedly ran a criminal network from the United States. According to Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Rangers, she allegedly issued instructions for killings in Karachi, with evidence including voice notes and call recordings linking her to hitmen.

The case drew international attention when the FBI investigated her activities, resulting in her arrest in the U.S. on charges of providing false statements during the probe.
