Islamabad United cruised to a nine-wicket victory over Lahore Qalandars after chasing a modest 101-run target in just 10.2 overs in the one-sided 16th match of HBL PSL 2026 at the National Bank Stadium on Thursday.
Chasing, the Shadab Khan-led United got off to a shaky start as opener Sameer Minhas was dismissed for five by Shaheen Afridi on the first ball of the third over.
Conway then combined with Mohammad Faiq to build a steady partnership, taking their side past the 50-run mark by the sixth over.
The pair batted sensibly at a healthy pace, dominating the Qalandars’ bowling attack, boosting team morale, and bringing up a half-century stand.
Conway was in scintillating form, striking boundaries at regular intervals to reach his maiden PSL fifty.
He finished unbeaten on 59 off 35 deliveries, including seven fours and three sixes, while Faiq contributed 34 from 19 balls, hitting six fours, guiding United to a comfortable win and their third successive victory of the season.
First Innings
After being put into bat, Qalandars struggled against United’s spinners and were bowled out for just 100 in 18.3 overs.
The innings suffered an early blow when Imad Wasim dismissed Mohammad Naeem for a first-ball duck on the second delivery of the opening over.
Haseebullah Khan and Abdullah Shafique added 26 runs for the second wicket, but Shafique was soon out for 10 off 12 balls, including a six, leaving Qalandars at 27-2 in 4.3 overs.
Captain Shadab Khan struck to dismiss Rubin Hermann for four off 14 balls, leaving Qalandars at 41-4 in 8.1 overs.
Asif Ali and Sikandar Raza forged a 31-run partnership, which was broken when Shadab removed Asif for 15 off 12 balls. Sikandar was the only notable scorer, making 25 off 19 balls before falling to Shaheen Afridi in the 16th over.
Richard Gleeson cleaned up Haris Rauf for two off three deliveries, while Gleeson and Faheem Ashraf took the remaining wickets to bowl out Qalandars for 100.
Chris Green was the star with the ball, taking three wickets for 19 runs, while Imad Wasim, Richard Gleeson, and Shadab Khan claimed two wickets each, and Faheem Ashraf contributed with one.
