The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation has announced the launch of the inaugural UAE National Mixed Martial Arts Championship, scheduled to take place on Jan. 25–26 at Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi.

Initially planned as a one-day event, the championship has been extended to two days due to a surge in registrations.

Male and female athletes from clubs and academies across the UAE will compete in youth and senior categories, making this event a milestone in the nation’s rapidly growing MMA scene.

The competition will feature divisions for Youth C (12–13 years), Youth B (14–15 years), and Youth A (16–17 years). For the first time in local MMA championships, a Youth D category (11–12 years) has been introduced, giving younger athletes an opportunity to showcase their skills.

The senior category (18 years and above) will also be included, promising a higher level of competition and serving as a benchmark for the sport’s development in the UAE.

This championship represents a significant step in the UAE’s efforts to promote mixed martial arts and establish itself as a regional hub for the sport.
