No Pakistani can imagine their life without tea. After a long, tiring day, a piping hot mug of tea is just the thing people want. But that ‘simple luxury’ is about to get more expensive.
The government has planned two measures that will make tea more expensive for those that consume the low-grade kind — a minimum retail price of PKR 1,200 per kg and an 18% sales tax.
