Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has announced road closures and extended operating hours for the Dubai Metro.
The changes will accommodate participants in the highly-anticipated Dubai Run on Nov. 24, the grand finale of the Dubai Fitness Challenge.
Dubai Metro
The metro will run from 3 a.m. to midnight to accommodate the influx of runners and spectators on race day.
Riders are also urged to check the balance on their Nol cards, with the RTA recommending a minimum of Dh15 for Nol Silver cards and Dh30 for Nol Gold cards for round-trip journeys.
Road closures
The following roads will be closed from 3.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. on Nov. 24:
- Sheikh Zayed Road between the Trade Centre roundabout and the second bridge
- Al Sukook Street between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Boursa Street
- Lower Financial Centre Road between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road
- One-way access from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard
Some alternative routes for motorists include:
- Financial Centre Road (upper level)
- Zaabeel Palace Street
- Al Mustaqbal Road
- Al Wasl Road
- Al Khail Road
- Al Badaa Street
The RTA advises both residents and visitors to plan their travel in advance to avoid disruptions.
