Natasha Baig hails from the Hunza Valley, famous for its mountains and rich history, but not for its vocalists. Despite the odds, she managed to stand out among a sea of female vocalists, some of whom are even named Natasha.

Her rendition of Allama Iqbal’s Shikwa and Jawab e Shikwa catapulted her to global recognition, whereas her energetic live performances and powerful voice have helped her establish her own unique space in the music industry.

Here she talks to Nukta’s Omair Alavi and opens up about everything from her struggles, her influences, and her ongoing musical journey. If you didn’t know she sings in nine languages, has recorded countless OSTs, and has even done playback singing for films, this interview is for you.
